ABOUT THE JOB
- In Columbia, our plant is separated into two areas: textiles and mill. In those areas, we specialize in the careful and precise manufacturing of the rubber and string used in Gates belts.
- Our process begins with raw materials that are handled, mixed, heated, and cooled for mill production, and carefully unwound, coated, and rewound for textiles.
- As a Production Operator, your day will focus on working collaboratively with a team, lifting, measuring, mixing, and gently monitoring machinery and gauges.
ABOUT YOU
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week, plus overtime, with reliable and consistent attendance
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Must have good communication skills, with the ability to carry out written and verbal instruction
- Basic reading, math, computer, and measurement skills required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without sponsorship
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Temperatures may vary in accordance with weather conditions and may be extreme. Gates is managed in compliance with OSHA guidelines and requires all employees to wear steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
