Part-time Temp Level 3 Computer Lab Technician

$22.06-$35.13 per hour, DOE

This is a part-time, temporary position not eligible for benefits.

Monday-Thursday 4:00PM-8:00PM; Schedule cannot exceed 19.5 hours/week.

The Part-Time Computer Lab Technician/Server Administrator provides support for CNT/CIS labs by preparing and maintaining IT lab equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and working with students. Help build and manage lab servers, client PCs, and other IT infrastructure.

• Works with faculty to develop, build and implement IT lab environments needed by CNT/CIS classes.
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, researching open source solutions, creating and managing servers or other IT systems
• Creating and managing backups, maintaining inventories, patch management, resetting lab environments and assisting in new equipment evaluation.
• Willingness to take on additional IT projects.
• Works with CNT/CIS faculty and students to help resolve IT issues, answer questions and help ensure successful lab experiences.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelors degree and 4 years of IT related experience or the equivalent of any combination of both.

A. IT related work experience

B. IT certifications such as A , Linux , Server , Network or similar

C. Experience building and managing Linux servers

D. Experience creating and using a home lab

• May require some evenings or weekends
• May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
• Ability to stand and work in server rooms as well as wiring closets.
• May be required to lift or carry up to #50 lbs
• MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas.
