Security Officer/Traffic Control

Monday - Friday 830-4pm

Position Summary

The Outside Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic on hospital grounds. This position plays a vital role in maintaining security, enforcing parking policies, and providing a visible presence to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and control vehicular and pedestrian traffic at patient discharge area.
• Enforce hospital parking regulations and issue citations or reports for violations as necessary.
• Provide assistance and directions to patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner..
• Support ambulance and emergency vehicle access to ensure uninterrupted patient care operations..
• Adhere to hospital policies, confidentiality standards (HIPAA), and all applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior security, law enforcement, or traffic control experience preferred—especially in a healthcare or high-traffic setting.
• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong observational and communication skills; ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods.
• Must be able to interact professionally with diverse populations.
• Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing and walking.
• Exposure to outdoor elements (heat, cold, rain, snow).
