Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nursing Supervisor to oversee our program and daily clinical operations within our Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) program. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, medication management, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and safe, effective program operations.
The ideal candidate is a licensed RN with strong leadership skills, experience in mental health or residential settings, and knowledge of DHS-licensed behavioral health programs. This position works closely with the Clinical Director and Treatment Director to maintain a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities & Areas of Oversight
Leadership & Program Operations
- Reports directly to the Treatment Director
- Supports daily clinical and operations of the IRTS program
- Ensures adherence to the facility’s mission, philosophy, and treatment model
- Maintains an effective clinical and nursing organizational structure
- Provides leadership during clinical team meetings and care coordination
Clinical & Nursing Oversight
- Oversees medication administration, medical monitoring, and nursing services
- Ensures safe, accurate, and compliant medication practices
- Supports integrated treatment delivery in collaboration with clinical and mental health staff
- Assists in developing and maintaining standards for patient care
- Ensures a safe, therapeutic, and trauma-informed environment for clients
Staff Supervision & Development
- Supervises nursing staff and supports interdisciplinary clinical team members
- Ensures staff meet licensure, training, and competency requirements
- Conducts staff performance evaluations and coaching
- Supports onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development
- Participates in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of nursing and clinical staff
- Supervises students or trainees as applicable
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensures compliance with DHS 245I, state, and federal regulations
- Demonstrates knowledge of administrative, clinical, and emergency policies
- Supports audits, licensing reviews, and corrective action plans
- Implements performance improvement initiatives and quality monitoring
- Monitors infection control, safety procedures, and risk management
Admissions, Coordination & Collaboration
- Oversees nursing involvement in intake and admissions
- Coordinates care with prescribers, hospitals, pharmacies, and external providers
- Builds positive working relationships with physicians and community partners
- Facilitates communication across clinical, nursing, and administrative teams
- Attends interdisciplinary meetings to support continuity of care
Staffing & Operations
- Maintains effective and efficient staffing schedules within budget constraints
- Supports coverage planning, call-offs, and shift coordination
- Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic residential environment
Additional Duties
- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned
- Supports crisis response and emergency procedures when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota
- Experience in mental health, residential, or behavioral health settings
- Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with DHS 245I, IRTS, or licensed residential programs
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Salary : $40 - $47
