What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety and Security Monitor - Washington, PA position at Gateway Rehabilitation Center?
Gateway Rehab has opportunities for a Safety and Security Monitor at our Washington, PA location. As a Monitor, you will be responsible for the coordination and execution of the patient monitoring and overall building safety in Gateway’s Inpatient treatment facility.
Responsibilities
- Monitors patient movement into and out of the facility.
- Maintains daily logs.
- Maintains knowledge of all facility rules, regulations, and policies
- Conduct safety and security rounds throughout the building.
- Conduct room inspections and complete report of findings daily.
- Conduct property and personal items searches and chain of custody.
- Support Nursing with visual searches upon admission.
- Conduct patient room searches on a rotating schedule and as needed
- Provide crisis management and patient de-escalation to support clinical staff.
- Support Counselor Techs with transfers as needed.
- Monitor medication and MAT line to prevent medication diversion.
- K-9 walk throughs on a rotating schedule in coordination with Regional Director of Security
- Provide support in the program as needed.
- Transports patients as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of 12 step programs.
- Good communications skills.
- Good de-escalation skills.
Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Requirements
- Chemical dependency treatment experience.
Additional Requirements
- Pass PA Criminal Background Check
- Obtain Child Abuse and FBI Clearances
- Pass Drug Screen
- TB Test
Work Conditions
- Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center.
- Must stay awake during shift.
