What are the responsibilities and job description for the Work Release Case Manager position at Gateway Rehabilitation Center?
Gateway Rehab has an immediate need for a Work Release Case Manager in Braddock, PA. The Case Manager who is responsible for the oversight of employment opportunities for Department of Corrections (DOC) residents. This position receives infrequent supervision and frequent instruction.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and approves residents’ weekly schedules and budgets.
- Provides life and job skills education and counseling, including individual, group, and educational sessions.
- Oversees the job search and job hour requirements of residents.
- Monitors resident job site attendance through telephone and physical location verification.
- Supervises resident 12 step meeting attendance.
- Coordinates resident community service requirements.
- Completes required case file and related documentation as well as required reports/paperwork for the Department of Corrections.
- Refers residents to outside agencies for appropriate assistance.
- Ensures that residents’ employers practice proper employment procedures according to DOC policies; i.e., payroll, Workers Compensation insurance, withholding tax deductions, etc.
- Completes aftercare planning and referral for residents to be discharged.
- Performs custody control procedures as needed.
- Assists with resident returns to custody of Probation, Parole, & Department of Corrections.
- Transports residents as needed.
- Attends mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with case management practices, including assessment, planning, and follow-up.
- Understands the legal system, including probation, parole, and reentry programs.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized case plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with clients, employers, and other stakeholders.
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Knowledge and experience in chemical dependency treatment and correctional programming.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass PA Department of Corrections clean check.
- Pass Drug Screen
- Must have a valid driver’s license and favorable driving record.
- Obtain CPR and First Aid training
- TB Test
