JOB DESCRIPTION
Title of Position: Case Aide
Location: Gateways Hospital CRTP
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt
Union/ Non-Union: Union
Supervisor: Program Director
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Supervise & monitor resident behavior, record medication compliance. Assist residents in obtaining CA identification cards. & MTA Passes. Assist in situational crisis intervention. Transportation of residents as needed.
ESSENTIALS DUTIES
• Monitors and ensures clients take prescribed psychotropic
• medications, and records medication compliance.
• Assists in situational crisis intervention as needed.
• Provides client transportation, as needed.
• Observes and records resident behavior and activities
• Monitors clients’ hygiene
• Assigns and supervises resident house jobs.
• Participates in staff meetings, counselor meetings, in-service
training, case conferences, morning meetings, and other meetings
as scheduled.
• Provides crisis intervention and management of assaultive
behavior as needed.
• Assists professional staff in arranging transportation for
psychiatric and medical emergencies.
• Conducts random checks of premises and buildings.
• Orders, receives and stocks food and supplies.
• Reports safety hazards, maintenance, and housekeeping
requirements to the Safety Manager/Residential Manager.
• Conducts group activities as directed.
• Orients new residential clients.
• Assigns beds and distributes linens to clients.
• Applies/enforces program regulations.
• Attends clinical staffing of clients and provides input as a part of
the interdisciplinary treatment teams.
• Responsible for keeping all client data confidential
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior paraprofessional counseling or paraprofessional psychiatric nursing experience.
• Academic training in Behavioral Sciences.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATES
• Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences or related area.
REQUIREMENTS
• Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Community Care Licensing (CCL) background clearance.
• Valid California Driver’s license.
• TB clearance.
• Driving record acceptable for coverage by Gateways insurance carrier.
• Fire and Safety Training*.
• First Aid Training Certification*.
• CPR Certification*.
• Crisis Prevention Institute Training (CPI)**
* Note: If indicated certifications/licenses are lacking, they must be obtained within 180 days of hire.
**Training needs to be completed within 30 days from the date of hire on a designated date provided by on-boarding. Staff need to be certified at the commensurate level for their role to perform their job duties (staff will be taken off the schedule if certification is not achieved).
