Position: Accounting Specialist (A/P Coordinator)

Location: Lenexa, KS

Accounting Specialist

GBA’s accounting group has an immediate opening for an Accounts Payable Specialist who will report directly to the Controller. This position will be directly responsible for the cash disbursement process including setting up/maintaining vendors, ensuring approval/coding of invoices, and processing disbursements. This position will also assist members of the department with general administrative duties such as filing, preparing customer and vendor communication and various other projects assigned by the Accounting Manager, Controller, and CFO.

This candidate should be a team player willing to perform any task/responsibility required and should be dependable, detail-oriented, organized, technically competent, process improvement focused, and have the ability to communicate to varying audiences.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable vouchers and accounts payable checks
• General administrative duties including filing, preparing customer & vendor communication, and petty cash transactions
• Encourage continuous process improvements to support changing company operations
• Other special projects and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of relevant work experience is preferred
• Experience in the Engineering or Professional Services industries considered a plus
• Experience with Deltek Vantagpoint and/or NetSuite considered a plus
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Must be a collaborative, team player who is organized and self-motivated
• Customer oriented, responsive approach
• Background and credit check will be performed
