DevOps System Engineer

If you’re passionate about large‑scale networks, automation, and next‑gen access technologies, this role puts you at the center of a major transformation. We’re looking for a Network Engineer to support the deployment and operations of virtual CMTS (vCMTS) and Remote PHY (RPHY) platforms—key components in modernizing broadband infrastructure and delivering faster, more reliable service nationwide.

You’ll work hands‑on with cloud‑based network systems, automation tooling, and high‑availability environments while partnering with engineering, product, and operations teams to bring new technologies into production.

What You’ll Do

• Deploy, configure, and maintain vCMTS platforms, including software installation and system setup.
• Perform system upgrades, RMAs, and automation tasks using Bash, Python, and related tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues in a 24x7 production environment.
• Analyze service‑impacting trends and collaborate with engineering teams on long‑term fixes.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation (including occasional nights/weekends/holidays).
• Support new product integration and operational readiness efforts.
• Partner with regional engineering teams to improve reliability and build automation solutions.
• Execute change management activities, including upgrades and risk mitigation.

What You Bring

• 5 years in production operations within a 24x7 environment.
• Strong Unix/Linux experience.
• Scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python).
• Solid network troubleshooting and configuration experience (Juniper, Arista, or Cisco).
• Hands‑on server hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, or Git is a plus.
• Experience building or replacing system hardware.
• Exposure to IT service monitoring, automation, and new product integration.

Nice to Have

• CCNA, JNCIA, or similar certifications.
• Experience with automation frameworks and risk‑management practices.
