- Delivers supplies, equipment, medication and other materials to the patient units, and other designated areas in a safe, timely, and accurate manner.
- Ensures that a handoff of medication occurs with the nurse.
- Maintain a courteous professional demeanor and communicates appropriately with patients, visitors, hospital personnel, and fellow employees at all times.
- Perform inspections and disinfecting procedures on transportation equipment utilized by the department.
- Records transportation data electronically and manually on appropriate forms and logs utilized by the department.
- Reports the status of transportation activities and abnormal activities to the manager in charge.
- Transport patients and adjunct equipment via prescribed vehicles between patient units, treatment centers, and their designated areas in a safe, timely, and accurate manner.
Work is typically performed in a transportation vehicle, office, residences, commercial buildings, medical facilities, and public places. Requires the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
