What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Nephrology position at Geisinger?
The Department of Nephrology provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient subspecialty services, including inpatient evaluation of AKI, critical care consultation, CRRT, acute and chronic dialysis, and outpatient management of CKD. We have dedicated clinics for the care of patients with kidney stones, resistant hypertension, glomerular disease, AKI, and transplant. We also provide comprehensive care for patients with ESRD with an emphasis on home dialysis.
Teaching and mentorship responsibilities include oversight of fellows in our nephrology fellowship program, residents in the internal medicine program, and medical students from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Research opportunities are available through the Center for Kidney Health Research.
