What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Registered Nurse - Employee Health position at Geisinger?
The Employee Health RN is responsible for performing the functions of the Employee Health Service Department through promoting wellbeing and a safe working environment for all employees.
- Performs health screening on all newly hired employees and reassessment upon transfer as necessary.
- Administers immunizations consistent with current policies.
- Coordinates annual health assessment program including, but not limited to, TB testing and immunization review with update of records.
- Evaluates and follows up with blood borne pathogen exposures in cooperation with Health Service Nurse Practitioner and Physician.
- Coordinates the annual influenza vaccine administration program in assigned areas.
- Participates with the Infection Control Department in appropriate actions following infectious exposures of employees.
- Serves as a resource and provides leadership to other members of the Health Service Department and within the health system.
- Monitors changes in Health Service standards required by regulatory agencies.
- Reviews Health Service policies annually with the Health Service policy and procedure committee in collaboration with Infection Control.
- Coordinates ongoing required record keeping logs and prepares reports as requested.
- Provides educational information to employees consistent with the mission and objectives of the Health Services Department.

Qualifications:
- Hours: 7:00AM to 3:30PM (Typical hours but flexibility is needed); Monday through Friday with occasional weekends and on-call
- Travel: may be required to cover other clinics
- Experience: 3 years RN experience is required; previous clinic or case management experience is preferred
