Job Summary
To assist the House Parent in directing day to day function of Gems and Jewels Group Center for girls. Direct Care Staff acts as role models, provide supervision, transportation, meals and medical support. Supervise planned group and/or individual structured activities according to a daily schedule. Works directly with children in a Group Center setting by ensuring the physical, emotional, medical and mental well-being of the children of their care.
Responsibilities and Duties
Direct Care Staff
- Must meet Punctuality and attendance standards
- Maintains all residence and facilities daily records, not limited to progress reports for each child activities, staff communication logs, medication logs, appointments made on shifts.
- Provides crisis intervention for residents posing a danger to themselves, others or property, including physical aggression and self-abusive behavior.
- Assist residents in chores, activities, home work, and community events
- Administers discipline and sets limits for acceptable behaviors through a Level/Points system based around behavior modification.
- Attends house meetings with residents, group home staff, the Case Managers or Therapist
- Assist residents in Daily Hygiene and Independent Living Skills
- Light House duties (ie cooking, light cleaning)
Qualifications and Skills
This Position requires previous work history for over 1 year working with children of difficult behavior. Must have or willing to obtain Certification including but not limited to QMAP, CPR, First Aid, Complete Physical, CBI & FBI Fingerprint & Background and Core Training within first 15 days of employment. Must obtain High School diploma and/or transcripts.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
