Company Description GeneDx,a division of BioReference Laboratories, is a rapidly-growing, diverse clinical laboratory in Gaithersburg, MD that provides molecular diagnosis for genetic disorders.GeneDx is recruiting for a full-time Next Generation Sequencing LaboratoryManager. Job DescriptionNext Generation Sequencing Laboratory ManagerGeneDx, IncGaithersburg MD GeneDx is recruiting for a full-time Next Generation Sequencing LaboratoryManager. Manages theadministration of the daily operations of the NextGen Sequencing Lab thatconducts the testing of clinical DNA specimens for the purpose of diagnosticgenetic disease, using manual and automated methods in a team environment, and following established policies and procedures, in a professional manner.Responsibilities Managesa group of testing personnel following established standard operatingprocedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting ofresults to team leads, supervisors, and record-keeping. Ensuresthat all group members adhere to quality control policies and documents allquality control activities, instruments and procedural calibrations, reagentpreparation and testing, and instrument maintenance performed.Identifiesproblems that may adversely affect test performance, takes authorizedcorrective action, and notifies key individuals. Overseesimplementation of new protocols and QA/QC criteria and detects when testperformance is not within acceptable levels. Documents all corrective action. Maintainsefficient lab operations and improves lab workflow and also contributes toreviewing and updating technical SOPsAlwaysbe able to document that proficiency testing is performed in the same manner aspatient testing.Meetsor exceeds target workload with high accuracy and attention to detail.   QualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor of Science degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology,or related life science, and meets CLIA and New York State personnel standardscriteria, plus 5 years relevant work experience in molecular technology orcomparable skills and knowledge; or, Master of Science degree in a relatedfield, plus 2-3 years relevant experience; or, credentialed as a MolecularGenetics technologist.
