General Fasteners Company (GFC) is seeking a New Business Development Manager to build relationships and sell inventory management programs to large OEM's across North America.

This position requires a sales professional with a Hunter and Road Warrior mentality looking to take their career to the next level. Do not apply if you plan to develop business over the phone or if spending over 100 nights a year in a hotel is going to be an issue. We need someone in front of customers, closing new sales. You will represent the following products and services to the industrial, heavy truck, military and automotive markets:
- Fasteners, hardware, industrial products and sub-assemblies
- Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs
- Custom engineering and design support
- Mechanical testing services
- Value Analysis/Value Engineering Services
SUMMARY:
Business Development Managers are responsible for improving a company's market position and maximizing its financial growth. These experts need to define strategic goals, liaise with business partners and stakeholders, identify new business opportunities, and keep up to date with market trends. Employers select resumes showcasing business acumen, analytical thinking, strategic planning, leadership, and excellent communication and networking abilities. A master's degree in business administration or management is common experience in most Business Development Manager resume samples.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to develop new business opportunities with large, multi-location, nationwide OEM
- Prospect, qualify and close new customer accounts quickly
- Differentiate our offerings through the Value-Added Selling, Team Selling, and other sales strategies as appropriate
- High level negotiation of long term agreements
- Report sales calls, itineraries and expenses in a timely manner
- Ascertain and report on competitive information
- Provide management with pricing/profit direction on new business opportunities
- Develop new-business strategic plan and deliver sales results to support that plan
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES:
- Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Word
- Experience with Epicor
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines
- Must be self-directed and possess a high level of personal organization and drive
- Possess excellent communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal
- Interact well with employees at all levels within the organization and be able to build and maintain positive working relationships
- Willingness and ability to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirements
- Sales Professional with at least 10 years of sales experience, and 5 years selling fasteners or other commodities to OEM via Vendor Managed Inventory programs.
- Demonstrated experience closing business with new accounts (hunter mentality)
- Ability to mine for new customer prospects through Internet search tools, word-of-mouth contact, and by leveraging existing relationships.
- Ability to convey complex information to individuals and groups
- Expert-level presentation skills utilizing MS PowerPoint, Prezi, and/or other sales media
- Experience utilizing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of related experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree or higher
