JOB TITLE: Grinding Operator
DEPARTMENT: Operations
LOCATION: Moncure, NC
TRAVEL: N/A
General Shale Brick, is seeking a Grinding Room Operator for our manufacturing facility in Moncure, NC. This position is hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow safety standards and procedures
- Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
- Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure minimal unplanned stops
- Communicate and record abnormalities to the supervisor
- Monitor the equipment and record daily data of the condition of the equipment
- Must be able to perform minor troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
- Ensure quality of the material being grinded
- Keep material stock levels.
EDUCATION:
- High school or equivalent required
- MSHA Training
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Forklift experience, loader and backhoe experience or the ability to learn to operate them safely
- 1 years experience in manufacturing preferred
- Experience with hammer mills is a plus
- Experience with belt conveyors is a plus
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Able to perform various form of physical labor (i.e. lifting 50 lbs/ standing)
- Ability to work well with others and be a team player
- Perform light maintenance on equipment
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Committed to working in a zero harm workplace
- Able to work flexible hours when needed
