What are the responsibilities and job description for the EDI Specialist position at General Vision Services?
EDI Specialist
- Half remote/ Half in office (fully ONSITE until 100% trained- estimate 3-6 months)
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support of EDI files for internal and external parties
- Prioritize and document EDI needs
- Communicate with users, operations and developers on the status of EDI projects and changes
- Manage and control client expectations through regular communication, status reports and timely quality deliverables
- Analyze multiple clients rejections
- Develop rejection files daily
- Set up EDI/ERA and EFT for plans, locations and doctors
- Identify EDI errors
- Analyze outgoing claims, classify and report back on accepted/rejected status.
- Analyze, report back to management and provide top rejection reasons for different payers for all clients.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and multitasking skills are required
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Good analytical skills and the ability to easily read and understand complex documents and procedures are necessary as well.
- Experience working with medical billing systems, trading partner and/or claims processing
- Knowledge of EDI/ERA enrollments
- Proven experience with HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Proven excel skills
