Job Summary:
- This senior technology role will be instrumental in delivery of client's Modern Data Platform strategy and will lead and grow the data engineering team.
- This role will serve as a thought leader for the entire organization on cloud-based data engineering and will need to work with business and technology leaders across the company.
Job Duties:
- Lead, oversee and grow the data engineering team at client
- Drive and lead the delivery of client's cloud-based modern data strategy
- Modernize the skillsets and practices of the current corporate data team to set them up for success in client's new cloud-based data platform
- Set and mentor on engineering practices and standards for data engineering
- Foster an iterative, agile, and DevOps-based culture that produces predictable and stable delivery of products and platforms
- Build a metrics-driven operational culture with a focus on observability, logging, monitoring, alerting and on-call practices
- Act as a technical liaison between engineering, infrastructure, and support teams
Job Requirements:
- Exposure to PySpark or Python
- Experience with Amazon Web Services: RedShift or Athena
- Experience with a CI/CD development workflow tools: Git, GitHub, GitLab, Allura, Gitea, Phabricator, Sourceforge, CodeCommit, GitBucket, or Bitbucket
- Familiarity with IaC tools: CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Pulumi
