Sales Executive

We are seeking an ambitious and high-performing outside Sales Executive to contribute to meeting our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets while strengthening our company’s market leadership in hydrogen solution sales. Preferably located in the western United States, with the ability to travel regularly.

You will be responsible for identifying and developing Sales leads and driving opportunities to close. You will represent the company in the broader market concerning industry events and other facets of business development. You will be heavily incentivized to proactively identify and create opportunities for revenue and convert them with an elevated level of independence and efficiency. You will also be expected to provide input into our go-to-market and overall sales strategy for our hydrogen solutions.


Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent the company and advance sales/business development efforts including:

Setting and leading meetings with prospects or customers

Customer visits or tours of facilities

Collaboration with functional departments including marketing, engineering, and manufacturing

Industry conferences and related events

  • Aggressively work to meet both individual and team sales targets by driving/converting qualified sales opportunities to revenue
  • Proactively engage with the market via leads, market/industry news and announcements, RFPs and other avenues to increase pipeline of opportunity
  • Support and collaborate with the Sales Leadership regarding the above duties and goals
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them, and understanding their needs
  • Devise and present realistic but aggressive sales and revenue forecasts to Sales Leadership and/or other management
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while maintaining full awareness of new products and competition status
  • Maintain awareness and fluency regarding regulations, incentives (e.g. Inflation Reduction Act Production Tax Credit), government programs, etc. as applicable to the hydrogen market, such as to support and enable customer projects leading to sales
  • Maintain and enact a creative, dealmaking mentality with regard to supply and demand opportunities in the US and Global hydrogen markets, endeavoring to enable projects and sales
  • Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate effectively throughout the broader company business
  • Professionally represent the company at all times and in all interactions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Daily Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify high-priority customers and opportunities that will deliver the budgeted bookings for the application assigned.
  • Manage all elements of the Sales process from lead generation to bid management and key customer account management within allocated Application focus.
  • Develop existing clients and identify new clients through direct contact
  • Support the team in the preparation of proposals
  • Ensure negotiated contracts are correct and of sufficient detail to pass to the Project Management for execution.
  • Assist, when required, in liaison with clients after orders have been received.
  • Utilize Salesforce in recording deal status and ensuring sales forecast is accurately reflected.
  • Ensure adherence to company environmental, health and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environment and the minimization of environmental impact.


Required Skills / Abilities

  • Global Sales experience in industrial gas or manufactured products industries
  • Experience in negotiating and closing sales opportunities
  • Strategic mindset to develop new opportunities
  • Flexibility, agility, and willingness to take innovative ideas into action
  • High degree of commercial shrewdness and understanding
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • First-class negotiation skills

·      Experience in Hydrogen sales projects and driving results

  • Oil & Gas and Petrochemical experience
  • Ability to prioritize between projects and activities and manage resources effectively
  • Experience in hydrogen, industrial gases, or energy-related sectors.
  • Advanced degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field


Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree required in engineering, business, finance, accounting or other related field of study, MBA or equivalent degree desirable.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in any of the following is highly valued:

Sales

Finance

Engineering

  • Good network and knowledge of the hydrogen and energy business
  • Successful experience as a sales representative or sales executive, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Computer and software systems skills as applicable to the position, including but not limited to MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Microsoft Teams, etc.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM (or fluency with comparable CRM)
  • Uncompromising dedication to quality.
