Gentry Public Schools is seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to serve as a Medium Heavy Duty Truck Program Instructor. Key Responsibilities:
- Inspire and Educate: Foster an engaging, inclusive, and safe learning environment, imparting expert knowledge in diesel mechanics and technology.
- Hands-On Training: Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on instruction in our fully equipped engine lab to ensure students gain real-world skills in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to enhance existing courses and develop new ones aligned with industry standards and trends.
- Mentorship: Guide students through individual projects, encouraging critical thinking, innovation, and professional growth.
- Safety First: Emphasize safety procedures and maintain a secure working environment at all times.
- Performance Evaluation: Assess student performance regularly, offering constructive feedback and encouraging continuous improvement.
- Administrative Duties: Report to the High School Principal and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of practical work experience in the field of Diesel Technology.
- At least one ASE certification is required to qualify for a technical teaching permit.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components, operational mechanisms, and maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency in diesel engine diagnostic software and the use of mechanical and electrical power tools.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and relevant electronics.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Patience and empathy to support students’ diverse learning paces.
