POSITION: Van Driver
LOCATION: Georgetown Public Schools
SUPERVISOR: Director of Operations
HOURLY RATE: Up to $25.00 per hour
START DATE: August 27, 2025
WORK YEAR: 180 school days, plus staff orientation
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, morning and afternoon shifts (split shift) – NO nights
WEEKLY HOURS: Up to 37.5 hours per week (depending on route)

General:
We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious 7D School Bus Driver, Pupil Transport 7D Driver to join the district! As the 7D School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the Mini Vans school bus while adhering to a strict schedule and ensuring your passengers’ well-being. You will be responsible for transporting special needs and displaced students to/from schools, keep daily attendance, fill out bus safety logs and attendance, maintain a clean bus, be dependable and responsible for the safety of students. Good driving skills and communication is necessary
The ideal candidate has a 7D License Certificate, Pupil Transport 7D Driver Certificate. Full Time and Part Time Positions are currently available; however, the district is willing to Train Qualified Candidates. The district will pay for the training to get the 7D License Certificate for Candidates that have Clean driving records and meet other qualifications.
Responsibilities
Pick up and drop off students at designated bus stops
Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations
Conduct regular vehicle safety inspections and report any maintenance or repair issues promptly
Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus in a safe manner
Engage with students in a friendly and courteous manner
Safely operate and drive a school van, ensuring the safety of all passengers.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure mechanical safety.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, childcare providers and staff regarding schedules and safety protocols.
Assist children in boarding and exiting the bus, providing support as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized bus environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
Obtain and maintain necessary certifications, including First Aid, CPR, and School Bus Endorsement.
Engage with students in a friendly and courteous manner
Requirements
Valid 7D Certificate (or CDL w/ (P) & (S) endorsements)
7D License Certificate / Pupil Transport 7D Driver Certificate
Valid MA drivers license
Able to pass a CORI/SORI and drug test
Qualifications
Clean driving record with no recent accidents or traffic citations
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Ability to follow GPS directions
Able to work split shifts in the morning and the afternoon on school day
Be 21 years old
Have a high school diploma or equivalent
