Job Summary: An In-Person Leader to build and manage operational leaders and drive program functions to ensure cohesive business objectives. Reporting to the CEO, the VP, Supply Chain will lead to set and reinforce the organizational vision and operational strategy across planning & procurement, logistics and customer service operations while collaborating with manufacturing, food safety and quality. The company manufactures and distributes nuts and confectionary products to large key accounts as well as key markets throughout the US. The company boasts a dominant market position in several of its product categories which continue to be expanded upon. Privately owned, our client has a rich tradition of innovation and an impeccable track record of long-term growth and profitability. Over the past five years alone our client has more than doubled revenues while successfully undertaking several major equipment/capacity expansion initiatives. This role will oversee the organization's planning, inventory, warehousing, distribution, transportation, procurement and customer service operations functions as well as developing and implementing operational systems to monitor and control critical supply chain processes. This role is crucial for managing our supply chain and promoting a culture focused on delighting our customers and driving revenue and profitability. The VP, Supply Chain will become a key member of the Company’s Executive team and ensure optimum operational and financial performance throughout the Company’s book of business by achieving the financial and operational goals established by the Executive team. You will prove to be an effective leader and motivator who displays professionalism coupled with business acumen to properly lead a growing team. Key Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the role will include: • Guide and lead other members of management providing day-to-day and long-term leadership to drive company strategic objectives, core values and team goals. • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop, implement and achieve plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel intended to support on and achievement of the Company’s overall growth strategy. • Manage policy deployment and development in the areas of purchasing, planning, logistics operational/cost efficiencies, safety, customer service operations, freight and distribution center operations including on-time delivery. • Design, implement and maintain a company-wide dashboard of key performance metrics; own the development and enforcement of company Standard Operating Procedures for responsibilities in scope. Supervise and guide the staff through execution of plans on a daily basis by fostering a success-oriented and accountable environment that is metrics driven and enriched by continuous improvement. • Identify issues, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement in flow and fulfillment processes. Utilize data analysis and reporting to drive process enhancements, compliance, and to keep business partners informed of key metrics. • Represents suppliers, manufacturers, customers, investors and the board of directors. • Design and implement internal processes and communication structures that drive velocity, quality, and accountability leveraging a variety of productivity software fully integrated. • Define & standardize / optimize inventory management, forecasting and planning processes and policies, such as but not limited to: inventory settings, days of supply coverage targets, order minimums, lead time management, and replenishment orders • Monitor inventory accuracy and inventory plans across all raw material and finished goods inventory systems. Manage product flow and address inventory issues promptly. Recommend systems/actions to improve inventory accuracy. • Work alongside senior management to develop the company’s business plan, including strategic sourcing and procurement, vendor management, materials management, logistics, and SOPs. Architect supplier management best practices towards improving supply performance in terms of quality, on-time delivery and working capital turn improvement and oversight of the Supplier Risk & Continuity program. • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies related to supply chain operation • Collaborate with production / manufacturing teams to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing processes. This involves providing support to improve manufacturing processes, including e.g. monitoring production capacity, optimizing manufacturing schedules, and implementing lean methodologies to enhance productivity and minimizing waste. • Motivate and lead a high-performance team; attract, recruit and retain team members; coach, train, and mentor members of the operating team. • Evolve a reliable network of sourcing and logistics operating partners to ensure reliable and effective end-to-end supply chain execution of the company’s products in line with customers’ expectations for on-time delivery. • Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets and strategies to meet financial performance targets. • Evaluate operating results throughout the organization to ensure that organization growth and objectives are being met. • Provide operational guidance in analyzing and appraising the effectiveness of organizational operations, including effective job costing, waste control and inventory control. • Oversee the design, operation, and improvement of the system that creates and delivers the organization's products and services. The successful candidate will have the following experiences and capabilities: • Able to lead in a culture that is a lean, selfless, working organization that understands the demands of Private Equity, Private Ownership & Family Business. • Must have an “entrepreneurial” spirit with a big-picture mindset. • Progressive operational leadership experience in a fast-growing, multi-unit/state company with a national footprint; food service / food distribution experience highly desired. • Demonstrated experience in implementing internal controls, policies, and procedures is desired. • Strong analytical skills in the area of finance, P&L management, planning, procurement and logistics. • Motivator and effective leader who displays professionalism coupled with business & commercial acumen. • Experience in innovation, scaling and commercialization will be an added advantage • Effective and consistent communicator across all areas of the company. • Experience in analyzing metrics and data-driven decision-making • Willing to challenge status-quo and offer alternate ways of thinking. • Must have a collaborative style and be able to cultivate and maintain an open environment where ideas are shared, questioned and tested. • History of promoting continuous improvement. • Solid understanding of budgeting, cost containment, procurement, planning, logistics business development, and strategic planning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Business / Operations preferred (focus on planning, logistics & customer service and procurement). • 20 years’ experience in operations management (preferably in food service, food distribution, food manufacturing, with 3 years in a leadership role. • Microsoft D365 or similar ERP experience will be preferred. • Should have led national / global scaling and integration. • Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A). • Proven track record of excellent operational leadership and ability to scale an organization. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and presentation skills. • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop internal resources.
Salary : $400,000
