What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach position at Georgia Southwestern State University?
This position is responsible for assisting in coaching the university’s women’s soccer program.
Responsibilities
Assists in planning and managing practices and game day activities. (30%) Instructs, coaches, and motivates players.
Recruits student athletes. (10%) Attends high school games. Evaluates players. Communicates with coaches and players.
Advises and monitors the academic progress of student athletes. (5%) Provides advice and support to struggling students. Monitors student athletes’ community service. Ensures compliance with eligibility requirements.
Maintains equipment and supply inventory. (5%) Purchases program equipment. Submits requisitions for equipment purchases.
Coordinates team travel. (5%) Reserves transportation for away games. Prepares expense reports and travel authorizations. Coordinates meals and hotels.
Assist First Year Experience department with projects focused on freshmen retention. (20%)
Meet with students to help address issues concerning transitioning into college life. (10%)
Serve on Residence Life after hours on-call staff rotation. (5%)
Performs a variety of related duties. (10%)
Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required.
More than one year of related experience required.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate sports. Knowledge of college-level athletic program management principles. Knowledge of women’s soccer rules and procedures. Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs. Skill in the coaching and training of student athletes. Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions. Skill in oral and written communication.
