Gerresheimer Peachtree City L.P. was established in 1993 in Peachtree City, GA, as part of the Plastics & Devices Division manufacturing and assembling a variety of precision molded plastic parts for various applications in the medical industry. The subsidiary operates in an 132 K sq. ft. production facility with 200 employees.
Job Description
- Independently optimize injection molding processes using established methods (e.g., GMS) and implement improvements directly in production.
- Drive improvements in work processes and organizational workflows to enhance efficiency.
- Plan, organize, and execute workshops to share best practices and foster innovation.
- Qualify new tools, SGM systems, including handling and peripheral equipment, ensuring smooth integration into production.
- Document all process changes comprehensively and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct sampling for new start-ups and changes to ensure production readiness and quality.
- Perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for recurring issues, complaints, or deviations.
- Evaluate and process improvement suggestions to drive continuous development in the production environment.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as tool service, quality assurance, TCC/SEC, assembly areas, and production coordination, to ensure seamless operations.
- Participate actively in Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Contribute to the development of SGM specifications, as well as tool and peripheral requirements.
- Supervise transfer projects independently, including taking on sub-project responsibilities as needed.
- Act as a technical point of contact for internal stakeholders, including plant and production management and customer-facing teams.
Qualifications
- Knowledge as it was imparted within the framework of a 3-year technical training, e.g. as a process mechanic for KKT, expanded by a relevant further training as a technician or master craftsman and deepened by targeted specialist training.
- In-depth expertise in plastics process mechanics, with at least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable role.
- Extensive experience in injection molding production, including proven success in applying process analysis expertise.
- Advanced knowledge of process engineering principles and their practical application.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including MES, SAP, and MS Office.
- Strong technical aptitude with a deep understanding of production processes.
- Solid knowledge of quality methods and their integration into manufacturing workflows.
- Exceptional analytical thinking and the ability to evaluate complex scenarios effectively.
- Proficient in applying problem-solving techniques, even in dynamic and challenging environments.
