Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Position purpose
Serve as the medical assistant float between the offices within the region/territory as needed. This position may be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical services.

Job Responsibilities:
Providing a remarkable patient experience: you will be responsible for rooming patients, obtaining vital signs (blood pressure, height, and weight) and documenting accurately in gGastro EMR.
Attention to Detail: updating the patients' medical history and medication list.
Team Player: Appropriately documents all patient phone calls and under the direction and guidance of the provider informs patients of test results.
Versatility: Familiarity with prior authorization process
Expertise: Asking appropriate triage questions when speaking with patients in person or on the telephone and accurately recording in gGastro.
Checking in and out Patients, scheduling follow up appointments and procedures
Qualifications:
Graduated from an Accredited MA program (preferred).
At least one full year of Medical Assistance experience (preferred)
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and referring practices.
Have a broad knowledge of medical terminology (1 years of healthcare experience).
EMR experience is ideal, gGastro experience is a plus.
Have the ability to prioritize and multi-task and must be able to function in a fast paced, at times stressful environment.

Salary: From $20.50-$24.00 per hour, depending on experience

- Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned that may include checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.; collecting patient history; checking vital signs; performing screenings per provider guidelines; assisting providers as needed; charting; phone triage; medication administration; relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls, and providing pertinent information; prescription verifications with physicians orders.
- Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned that may include sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/X-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms/requisitions as needed; scheduling appointments; patient check-in and check-out; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics; managing and updating charts to ensure that information is complete and filed appropriately.
- Fulfills organizational responsibilities as assigned including respecting/promoting patient rights; responding appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisor.
