Responsibilities
- Assist in determining the audit procedures and scope of the audit, and the preparation of an audit program, if necessary
- Perform the audit in a professional manner and in accordance with the approved audit program
- Assist in oral or written presentation to management during and at the conclusion of the examination, discussing deficiencies, recommending corrective action, and suggesting improvements in operations and reductions in cost
- Prepare workpapers documenting audit work performed and supporting conclusions contained in formal audit reports
- Prepare formal written reports, as requested, detailing the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and the efficiency with which activities are carried out
- Review and monitor the adequacy of the corrective action taken to improve deficient conditions
- Review procedures and records for their adequacy to accomplish intended objectives, and appraising policies and plans relating to the activity or function under audit review
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 25%)
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- BS degree in Business, Finance, or related field
- 0-2 years of business and audit experience
- Construction, real estate, or similar industry experience preferred
- Federal government compliance experience a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong desire to add value and succeed as a member of Gilbane’s Internal Audit team
- Ability to assume increased responsibilities
- Ability to quickly differentiate the importance of various processes, risks and related controls
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to write clear and concise reports
- Strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously while effectively managing expectations
- Ability to function in a team environment
Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Providence, RI this ranges from $48,900.00-$67,300.00 plus benefits and retirement program.For Philadelphia, PA this ranges from $51,300.00-$70,500.00 plus benefits and retirement program.For Boston, MA and Arlington, VA this ranges from $54,500.00-$75,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
