What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen & Bath Designer position at Gillman Home Center?
***This position will work out of our Eaton, Ohio store location***
To assist customers in the interior design needs of their home. This consists of cabinets, counter tops, flooring and appliances/hardware.
Essential Functions:
Provide excellent customer service.
Assist customers with interior designs for their home or project.
Travel to homes/job sites to take measurements and discuss layouts.
Use 20-20 design software to design layouts.
Become the product knowledge expert on all the lines we carry and know how to satisfy customer needs.
Provide in store support as required.
Run cash register as necessary.
Other duties assigned as necessary.
Work Competencies:
Proficient in 20-20 design software.
Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system and POS register system.
Ability to communicate with team members and customers.
Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
Ability to climb ladders.
Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-30 pounds.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; read, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work can be between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Travel: Various travel required to customer/contractor homes/worksites to provide estimates.
Required Education and Experience:
College degree in related interior design field preferred.
1-3 years of design experience.
Knowledge and proficient in 20-20 design program.
