Part-Time Attorney

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pennsylvania barred Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in debt collection defense and bankruptcy. This role requires excellent legal research and drafting skills, as well as the ability to litigate effectively on behalf of clients.

Duties

• Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, mediations, and bankruptcy proceedings, advocating for their interests effectively. While this is a remote position, court proceedings are often IN PERSON in Courts in western Pennsylvania.
• Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation and strategy development.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements with precision and attention to detail.
• Provide legal advice to clients regarding their rights and obligations under applicable laws.
• Manage case files efficiently in Clio, ensuring all documentation is organized and up-to-date.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies and share insights on complex legal matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in PA.
• Proven experience in litigation and familiarity with consumer debt defense and bankruptcy (chapters 7 and 13) preferred.
• Strong skills in legal research and writing; proficiency in using Lexis-Nexis is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey legal concepts clearly.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in legal drafting and case management.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to travel to and appear in Court locations throughout western Pennsylvania.

Please note this is a remote work-from-home position, but all applicants must be located in or near Pittsburgh, PA and able to travel to and from any Court location in western Pennsylvania.
