Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Branch Manager to lead the overall performance of the branch, with direct accountability for sales growth, key customer relationships, and execution of the branch business plan.

This role is pivotal in driving profitable growth. The Branch Manager is not only responsible for operational excellence, but also serves as a front-line sales leader with direct ownership of key accounts, a managed book of business, and leadership responsibility for the branch’s overall commercial results.

Key Responsibilities (Sales-Forward)

Sales Leadership & Growth

  • Own and drive the branch sales plan, with full accountability for revenue growth, gross margin performance, and customer retention.
  • Maintain direct responsibility for a defined set of key accounts, including active selling, relationship management, and expansion of share-of-wallet.
  • Manage a personal book of business, serving as the senior commercial contact for strategic and complex customers.
  • Lead, coach, and hold accountable the inside sales team to execute against growth targets, activity standards, and margin expectations.
  • Develop and execute strategies to acquire new customers and deepen penetration within existing accounts.
  • Maintain strong awareness of pipeline health, quote activity, close rates, and customer opportunities across the branch.

Customer & Key Account Management

  • Serve as the primary escalation point and senior relationship owner for key accounts.
  • Ensure disciplined execution of quoting, order entry, expediting, and issue resolution for strategic customers.
  • Partner with customers to identify cost savings, value-added services, and long-term supply solutions.

Operations & Fulfillment

  • Oversee all branch operations, including warehouse, logistics, and inventory management, ensuring reliable execution that supports customer commitments.
  • Ensure purchasing and supply chain activities support on-time, in-full delivery and margin objectives.
  • Oversee branch value-added services, including electro-mechanical assembly, valve bank assembly, and VMI programs, ensuring alignment with customer needs and profitability targets.

Supplier & Partner Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and strategic suppliers to support pricing competitiveness, availability, and growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on joint sales opportunities, inventory strategies, and value-added programs.

Planning, Financial & Team Leadership

  • Develop and execute short- and long-term branch plans aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Own branch financial performance, including sales, gross margin, operating expenses, inventory, and asset utilization.
  • Hire, train, develop, and lead inside sales, warehouse, and assembly teams, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a sales-minded culture where customer focus, urgency, and execution discipline are core expectations.
Requirements:


Qualifications:

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, communicate, and manage people effectively.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills for financial management and problem-solving.
  • Industry Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in sales or operations in the Industrial Supply Industry. Ideally this would include applying bearing, power transmission, and automation components to solve industrial applications. Experience outside the distribution industry will also be considered including operations, procurement, and sales in a manufacturing environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly reliable with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in computer use, including all ERP functions, email communication, and report generation. Must possess a high degree of mechanical aptitude and the ability to multi-task.
    • Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 or similar distribution software preferred, but not required
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel

Education: Associate degree or two-year college equivalent preferred but not required
