Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC
Camp Hardee, Blounts Creek, NC

The Assistant Camp Director assists the Camp Director in planning, leading, and supervising the resident camp program including food service, programing, and, camper and staff supervision . The salary for this position is $600.00 per week (which includes housing).

Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Experience in resident camps or youth programming.
- Current certification or ability to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR.
- Ability to supervise staff and campers.
- Ability to relate well to others.
- Ability to plan, originate, organize, and carry out daily and special program.
- Commitment to the aims and purpose of the Girl Scout movement.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate and work with girls and adults and provide necessary instruction to staff.
- Ability to listen to others.
- Ability to observe others’ actions and respond appropriately.
- Ability to read text and information and understand it.
- Ability to comprehend instructions and manuals.
- Willing to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours with limited or simple equipment and facilities with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and animals such as bugs, snakes, bats, etc.
- Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
- Ability to observe staff behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate management techniques.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
