Job Description
Under the direction of the CFO, the Accountant will facilitate monthly close by reconciling the incoming revenue with the bank accounts, making sure that invoices are paid in a timely manner and employee reimbursements are recorded/paid according to procedures.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. 5-8 years of AR/AP accounting can be substituted.

Job Description
Under the direction of the CFO, the Accountant will facilitate monthly close by reconciling the incoming revenue with the bank accounts, making sure that invoices are paid in a timely manner and employee reimbursements are recorded/paid according to procedures.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the banking activities including updating check signers, checks deposits, uploading ACH batches, updating guidelines, and maintaining a database of all bank accounts.
- Responsible for recording daily incoming payments, donations, fee revenues, retail transactions and working with the departments to ensure transactions are properly recorded and coded.
- Pay invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements, and obtaining authorization of payments, and classifying/recording accounts payable data.
- Ensure monthly GET, and annual sales tax filings are completed accurately and timely.
- Maintain accounting ledgers by posting account transactions on MIP.
- Verify credit card spending and income by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments and adjustments.
- Maintains financial records by filing accounting documents digitally for audit purpose and tax filing and assist audit prep and 990 at year end.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. 5-8 years of AR/AP accounting can be substituted.
Experience
Competencies and areas of expertise MUST include:
- Two or more years of bookkeeping or accounting experience with nonprofit accounting or a similar work environment preferred.
- Strong organization and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office. Must be proficient in Excel and formulas. Abila MIP Fund Accounting and Salesforce experience a plus.
