Starting Salary: $ 18.00 per hour
As a Girl Experience Specialist specializing in S.T.E.A.M. and entrepreneurial programming, you will be responsible for igniting girls' passion for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics while fostering an entrepreneurial mindset. Your role involves designing and leading innovative programs that enable girls to explore these fields and develop their creativity, critical thinking, and business acumen. This position requires an individual who is enthusiastic about empowering girls to become future innovators and leaders.
Schedule: Locations vary across town occasionally transportation to the site is required. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends within a 40-hour work week. Some overnight travel may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may need to be assigned according to the needs of the council.
- Develop and implement dynamic S.T.E.A.M. and entrepreneurial programs that encourage girls to explore and experiment in a supportive environment.
- Collaborate with experts and professionals in relevant fields to create inspiring learning experiences.
- Coordinate and facilitate programs and events that expose girls to successful women entrepreneurs and role models.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages girls from all backgrounds to engage in S.T.E.A.M. and entrepreneurial activities.
- Continuously assess the impact of programs, gathering feedback from participants and making improvements as needed.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of all participants during activities.
- Maintain thorough documentation of program content, attendance, and outcomes.
- Cultivate partnerships with educational institutions and industry experts to enhance program offerings.
- Collaborate with recruitment teams to attract volunteers with expertise in S.T.E.A.M. fields and entrepreneurship.
- Guide girls through hands-on activities, experiments, and projects that foster their curiosity and problem-solving skills.
- Incorporate entrepreneurial concepts into programs, teaching girls about Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills, and Business Ethics.
- Prepare check requests, purchase order requests, and assist in reconciling credit card expenses.
- Participates in reporting, budgeting, goal setting, and strategic planning to support and develop short-term and long-term departmental strategies, budgets, and risk management systems.
- Participate in customer service phone support.
- Uphold the organization's safety standards and policies.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and other all-staff meetings and events.
- Carries out other duties and assignments as assigned by supervisor.
- High School Diploma required; College degree or equivalent in a relevant S.T.E.A.M. or business-related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in program development or education, with a focus on S.T.E.A.M. and/or entrepreneurship.
- Passion for S.T.E.A.M. subjects and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset in girls.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with the Girl Scout program is advantageous.
- Proficient computer operation skills and in use of technology
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word), Smartsheet, SharePoint, team/knowledge sharing tools, etc.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid Drivers License Required. Must have personal transportation and ability to drive, possess a valid drivers license, maintain personal auto insurance, and meet the council insurance companys requirements for coverage.
- Girl Scouts membership required upon hire.
- Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification required
Language Skills:
- Excellent written and oral English language abilities. Spanish proficiency a plus.
- Comfortable with public speaking.
- Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, are a plus.
Reasoning Ability:
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and in a collaborative, service-focused environment.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job functions involves a mix of on-site and occasional off-site in different community locations including schools, churches, office buildings, parks, camp grounds, and other settings as needed. Other functions may take place at Councils headquarters which provides an environment as follows, professional work space in an open concept office environment with distracting conditions, along with front desk, retail shop, training center and warehouse.
