Job Summary
We are seeking reliable and professional Medical Courier Independent Contractors to join our team. This role involves transporting medical specimens, supplies, and equipment to various healthcare facilities and laboratories. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery driving, customer service, and handling logistics in a fast-paced environment. As an independent contractor, you will operate your own vehicle to ensure timely and safe deliveries, supporting the critical needs of healthcare providers.
Duties
- Safely load, unload, and secure medical items such as specimens, supplies, and equipment for transport
- Route driving to ensure efficient delivery schedules across designated areas
- Pick up and deliver medical materials between hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and other healthcare facilities
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries and pickups
- Perform routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with transportation regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients and facility staff
- Manage multiple deliveries daily while adhering to deadlines and safety protocols
- Use warehouse experience and equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading large shipments
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving medical supplies or equipment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience preferred
- Experience operating box trucks or vehicles with manual transmission is a plus
- Familiarity with route driving and logistics management
- Ability to lift heavy items safely (up to 50 pounds) and perform manual handling tasks such as moving supplies or equipment
- Strong customer service skills with professional communication abilities
- Experience using forklifts or pallet jacks is advantageous but not required
- Reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage for independent contracting work
- Ability to pass background checks and adhere to safety standards required for transporting medical materials
