Required Skills and Experience
- Fiber optic fusion splicing and termination for singlemode and multimode systems
- Fiber testing using power meters and OTDRs with proper documentation of results
- Installation, termination, and testing of Ethernet cabling systems including Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 6A
- Knowledge of low voltage telecommunications systems including data and voice infrastructure
- Proper cable routing, support, labeling, and pathway compliance
- Rack, cabinet, and wall-mounted equipment installation
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, riser diagrams, and cable schedules
- Proficiency with industry hand tools including crimpers, strippers, testers, and mechanical tools
- Strong troubleshooting skills for fiber and copper cabling systems
- Ability to work independently in the field and lead by example
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety focused
Required Leadership and Field Experience
- Lead and supervise installation crews across multiple job sites
- Plan daily work activities and keep crews aligned with project schedules
- Coordinate effectively with project managers, customers, and other trades
- Maintain jobsite safety and quality standards
- Accurate documentation of testing results, as-built information, and work completed
Preferred or Nice to Have
- Prior lead technician or foreman experience on structured cabling projects
- Experience interpreting OTDR traces beyond pass or fail
- Basic understanding of IP networking concepts
- Experience working on commercial or multi-site cabling projects
- Bicsi Certifications
- Fluke test equipment certifications
Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
