Glen Gery/ Brickworks Supply is one of the nation’s leading brick manufacturers, is searching for a motivated and driven Outside Architectural Sales Representative.

Coordinates with: Plant, Sales and Corporate management, Technical Services staff, District Sales Managers, distributors, architects, design advisors, construction managers, general and masonry contractors, engineering firms and others as necessary to maximize production/shipping capabilities.

Functions: The Architectural Sales Representative (ASR) is responsible for promoting the full line of Brickworks products and services to architects, designers, contractors, distributors and other construction industry professionals in their assigned territory. The ASR will be responsible for calling on architects and customers in their territory, handling job protection issues, reporting monthly on the territory activity, handling credit issues and customer complaints. This opportunity requires working closely with the accessory and field sales reps in the territory.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales goals by generating leads resulting in the specification of product for jobs sold through Brickworks supply centers
  • Promoting products and design ideas to owners, architects, contractors and distributors to include delivery of onsite presentations
  • Monitor, review, and report on sales performance and develop plans to improve market share
  • Report on competitor activities within market area of responsibility and beyond if applicable
  • Participate in professional industry organizations (BIA, CSI, AIA, etc.) including promotional events, seminars and presentations
  • Maintain current samples and literature for distribution to clients
  • Handle all customer complaints through resolution in a timely and acceptable manner
  • Coordinate periodic plant visits with customers, architects, engineers, etc.
  • Handle job protection requests for sales territory if applicable

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in Marketing or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of experience selling construction related materials
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving regarding sales, service and promotion
  • Self-motivated, high personal drive with a disciplined approach to working individually and utilizing resources to assist with accomplishing goals and objectives of the company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM)
  • Ability to strive for continuous improvement and must be detail-oriented
  • Able to travel daily on a local basis and overnight on occasion (plant visits, seminars, sales meetings, etc.)
