Position Summary: The Director of Finance is a key contributor to the success of the business. As a part of the company’s leadership team, the Director of Finance will provide financial leadership for the company and provide important input to strategy. The Director of Finance is responsible for all financial functions and will provide strong financial and operational leadership including key interfaces with the Board of Directors. He/she will be an astute financial executive with the ability and experience to bring financial operations and processes to a new level and instill best practices throughout the organization. The Director of Finance will provide leadership as the company grows and expands while ensuring fiscal policies and compliance responsibilities are maintained.

Education/Training:
- B.A or B.S degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills including all Microsoft Office and knowledge of accounting systems. Proficient in Excel.
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years combined public / private experience including at least 5 years of CFO / Controllership experience
- Experience in Spa / Hospitality / Resort industries preferred.
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles and controls on manual and automated systems.
- Ability to translate complex situations into information that will support the profitability and growth of business.
- Exceptional knowledge of cash management, capital budgeting and financial reporting.
- Thorough knowledge of internal controls as well as GAAP and IRS reporting requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maximize growth and earnings.
- Accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting, including internal financial reporting to the leadership team and Board of Directors.
- Summarize key risks and opportunities facing the company and make recommendations as they affect the financial results of the company and its business.
- Quickly identify critical operating issues and drive positive financial result through a combination of financial analysis, innovative execution and cross-functional teamwork
- Plan, develop and recommend practices, procedures and controls to ensure the integrity of financial information is maintained.
- Monthly reporting of key performance indicators such as cost of sales and marketing effectiveness, and profitability.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and manage annual audits.
- Financial analysis and planning including annual budgeting, tax activity, forecasting and re-forecasting as necessary.
- Strongly contributes to the profitable growth of the business.
- View financial implications from a varied number of perspectives, i.e. customers, sales, technology, and attainment of strategic objectives.
- Identify and execute opportunities and strategies to improve profitability and cash flow.
- Cash management including monitoring and management of banking relationships.
- Management of tax and legal functions.
- Identify key drivers of profitability and create simple management reporting and related reporting processes.
- Confidently lead the senior management team through the annual planning and budgeting process, ensuring financial resources are appropriately aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Structure the finance/accounting team and processes that are scalable and can support company growth.
- Take a hands-on approach and ensure the smooth operation of the accounting department and monthly close process.
