Position Overview: At GBEA, Occupational Therapy is designed to help our pediatric clientele do the things that they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of daily activities (occupations). Occupational therapy practitioners enable people of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping them promote health and prevent-or live the most independent life with- injury, illness, or disability.

Common occupational therapy interventions include assisting children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, facilitating independence in self-care daily living activities, and providing supports for those experiencing physical and cognitive changes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized evaluations, during which the client/family and Occupational Therapist determine the clients' goals.
• Create a customized intervention plan to improve the clients’ ability to perform daily activities and reach the goals set forth in the plan of care.
• Evaluate outcomes and ensure that goals are being met. Make plan adjustments as needed.
• Provide direct treatment sessions as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree from an ACOTE certified degree program.
• Active Tennessee licensure.
• Preference for those credentialed with payors.
• Pediatric experience required. Autism spectrum disorder experience a plus.
• Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other professionals.
• Dedication to ethical standards and professional development.
