Overview

The Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the revenue cycle process—from patient registration and insurance verification to claims submission, payment posting, denial management, and collections. This role ensures optimal revenue performance, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction. The Director will supervise billing, coding, credentialing, and accounts receivable teams and will collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement strategies for financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

- Develop and execute strategies to optimize revenue cycle performance across all clients.

- Identify and implement industry best practices and process improvements.

- Ensure revenue cycle operations align with organizational goals and client expectations.

Operational Oversight

- Oversee billing, coding, collections, credentialing, payment posting, denial management, and reporting functions.

- Ensure accurate and timely claims submission and reimbursement.

- Monitor KPIs and create dashboards to track productivity, collection performance, and AR trends.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and payer regulations (e.g., Medicare, Medi-Cal, Medicaid Managed Care).

- Monitor audits, correct deficiencies, and lead continuous improvement efforts.

- Oversee credentialing workflows and ensure timely provider enrollment and recredentialing.

Client Relations & Communication

- Serve as primary point of contact for RCM clients.

- Provide regular reporting, performance reviews, and strategy consultations.

- Ensure prompt resolution of client inquiries and concerns.

Business Development & Client Acquisition

- Collaborate with leadership to identify and pursue opportunities for new RCM contracts with FQHCs, private practices, and other healthcare organizations.

- Leverage industry relationships, attend conferences, and represent the company in strategic meetings to promote RCM services.

- Work closely with the CEO and sales/marketing teams to support proposal development, pricing models, and contract negotiations.

- Assist in onboarding new clients to ensure a smooth operational transition and client satisfaction.

Team Management & Development

- Recruit, train, and mentor RCM managers and staff.

- Develop performance metrics and conduct evaluations.

- Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and service excellence.

Technology & Integration

- Work with EHR, PM, and clearinghouse systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Epic).

- Collaborate with IT and vendor teams on system upgrades, integrations, and automation initiatives.

- Lead adoption of AI and analytics tools to enhance RCM efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

- Minimum 7 years of progressive RCM experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

- Deep understanding of FQHC billing, Medicare/Medi-Cal regulations, and managed care.

- Experience managing cross-functional teams, preferably in a multi-site or multi-client environment.

- Proficiency with medical billing software, EHRs (especially eCW), and reporting tools.

- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of UDS reporting, PPS/APM billing, and wraparound payments.

- Experience with outsourced/offshore RCM operations.

- Familiarity with AI-based RCM tools and automation platforms.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
