Engineering Technician

Job Description:

• Associates degree in Electronic Technology or related field.

• 5 years of experience in IFE production type environment as an individual contributor.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.

• Experience with quality control techniques

• Provide Dedicated IFE Support for Boeing 787 at Boeing’s Charleston, SC location.

• Inspect, overhaul, rework, modification, troubleshooting of Aerospace equipment

• Document work performed in Velocity if/as required

• Provide daily status update with customer

• Detailed rework documentation per NC via Snagmaster

• Tool and FOD check

• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawing and schematics to be used for troubleshooting.

• Determine method and sequence of assembly operations where complete information is not readily available or follows assembly shop router and production operations sheets, wire lists, samples, blue prints, schematics and verbal instructions to perform a wide variety of assembly operations.

• Exposure to small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
