Gift Shop Clerk

Description

General Definition:

• Conducts monetary transactions and provides sales assistance to gift shop patrons in a professional and ethical manner.

Essential Job Functions:       

• Greets gift shop customers and offers advice as requested in a friendly, professional manner.
• Receives cash or checks or completes credit-card charge transactions according to established procedures.
• Counts money to verify amounts and issues receipts for funds received.
• Issues change and compares totals on cash register with amount of currency in register to verify balances.
• Resolves customer complaints when possible and reports concerns to Department Head.
• Monitors checkout stations to reduce customer delay.
• Furnishes information both printed and verbal regarding all customer related services provided throughout the facility.
• Provide direction regarding all informational services and products to groups scheduled for specific events.
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly and service oriented manner.
• Maintain and complete all opening /closing duties and cash handling procedures according to established policies.
• Performs other related duties as may be assigned by reporting senior.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Six (6) month related experience and/or training; or combination.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent customer service, communication skills, and ability to work as a team required. 
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

• Responsible Gaming

Licenses/Certifications/Other: 

• Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functions
