Position Overview
The Environmental Manager is responsible for overseeing environmental compliance, waste management, water systems, forestry projects, and caretaker contracts for a large industrial facility. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations and manages several operational and regulatory programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Caretaker Contract Management
- • Oversee a $3M caretaker contract, including unexploded ordnance disposal, RCRA inspections, regulatory reporting, and invoicing.
- • Ensure compliance with EPA, TCEQ, and DoD standards.
- Environmental Compliance & Waste Management
- • Direct the collection, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- • Manage industrial wastewater treatment and pollution abatement systems.
- • Secure and maintain all required environmental permits.
- Public Water System Oversight
- • Obtain and maintain a Class C Water Distribution License.
- • Supervise nitrification plan, sampling, annual backflow valve testing, and water tower inspections.
- SOP and Reporting Compliance
- • Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Facility Accident Analysis Team (FAAT) reports for environmental compliance.
- • Develop and manage departmental budgets.
- Land and Grounds Projects
- • Coordinate forestry operations, herbicide applications, and invoice tracking.
- • Oversee facility mowing in compliance with ATF, EPA, and military regulations.
- Support Operations at Additional Site
- • Assist and advise the Kansas site on environmental program execution.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in an environmental role, preferably in industrial or manufacturing settings.

- • Hazardous Waste Management
- • Visible Emissions Evaluator
- • Asbestos Inspector
- • Lead Abatement Worker
- • DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation Certification
- • DOD 4145.26M-2008 (Understanding & Application)
- Licenses:
- • Municipal Solid Waste Operator
- • Class C Water Distribution License
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Understanding of federal and Texas environmental laws and permits
- Operational knowledge of hazardous waste treatment and industrial wastewater treatment systems
- Familiarity with facility layouts and day-to-day operations
- Ability to interpret and prepare complex documents and reports
- Experience with CADD (Revit/Bentley) a plus
Physical and Mental Requirements
This role requires the ability to:

Salary Range
$86,160 – $129,240
Final compensation will be based on experience, location, and qualifications.
