Position Summary:
Reporting to the CAD Services Supervisor, the CAD Designer is responsible for developing and modifying engineering designs and preparing detailed drawings for medical implants and instrumentation according to specifications of their product line. Additionally, the CAD Designer will be tasked with providing aesthetic and ergonomic feedback on instrumentation.
Essential Functions:
- Designs and details instruments and implants using PTC Creo Parametric software.
- Interacts with engineering, manufacturing, and quality personnel to complete required tasks.
- Utilizes high-level CAD techniques such as surface modeling, body/boolean operations, patterning, family tables, etc. to accurately capture complex geometry such as bone curvature, drill bit flutes, and screw threads.
- Assists with the development and implementation of additive manufacturing design processes.
- Works directly with the 3D print prototype lab to ensure best practices for CAD file preparation and resulting 3D prints.
- Communicates concepts to the in-house design teams.
- Develops and oversees designs from concept through production.
- Works with in-house prototype shop and outside vendors to ensure manufacturability.
- Assists with the implementation of geometric dimensioning and tolerance standards.
- Ensures full compliance with Globus quality system and other applicable regulatory bodies.
- Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
- Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience using PTC Creo Parametric software or equivalent 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor/Fusion 360, Solid Edge/NX, etc.) for design and drafting. Expertise using Windchill PDM is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in engineering, design, or manufacturing, preferably in the medical device field.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering, Drafting and Design, or Industrial Design; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques/processes, geometric dimensioning and tolerance standards; Strong self-starting skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment; Multi-tasking abilities required for successful job completion.
- Well organized, detail oriented and team player.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
