Summary
The National Manager - EPC Operations (contract role) will provide expert-level guidance in establishing operational frameworks, evaluating EPC service providers, and shaping long-term strategic partnerships for a scalable and cost-efficient EPC model. The Advisor will act as a key resource during the critical start-up phase of the EPC project and collaborate across cross-functional teams including Logistics, Procurement, and Corporate Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Advisory Support
- Serve as a strategic advisor, offering insights based on industry best practices for greenfield or hybrid EPC setups
- Guide the development of end-to-end operational frameworks—including site design input, process flows, labor planning, and capacity modeling
- Advise on phased implementation approaches that allow for scalable growth while maintaining operational efficiency and flexibility
- Provide recommendations on structure/framework, governance, escalation protocols, and oversight mechanisms necessary for a high-functioning EPC operation
- Support in preparing internal executive briefings and business cases by contributing subject matter knowledge and operational risk perspectives
- Vendor & Partner Assessment
- Lead the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of potential EPC and logistics service providers, including site capability walkthroughs, infrastructure reviews, and throughput analyses
- Develop a vendor assessment that incorporates key factors such as equipment compatibility, operational reliability, technology systems, labor scalability, and pricing competitiveness
- Conduct analyses of prospective partners, identifying synergies, capacity gaps, and long-term viability for sustained collaboration
- Facilitate due diligence sessions and partner interviews to assess alignment, responsiveness, and operational transparency
- Operational Readiness
- Evaluate the facility and resource readiness of shortlisted EPC sites to meet incoming volume forecasts and customer-specific service needs
- Provide input on the design and sequencing of key operational areas such as unit intake, inspection, modification bays, wash areas, and outbound load zones
- Assess requirements for labor, equipment, IT systems, and safety compliance to ensure the EPC can support near-term operations and future scalability
- Support the buildout of initial SOPs and contingency protocols for inbound logistics disruptions, quality hold procedures, and volume surges
- Recommend facility enhancements or layout changes based on site visits and projected workflow bottlenecks
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., Procurement, Finance, Logistics) to ensure cohesive execution and alignment with business objectives
- Risk & Compliance Review
- Identify potential operational risks and gaps during planning, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Performance Benchmarking:
- Support the development of initial performance metrics, KPIs, and vendor evaluation frameworks for long-term operational success
- Strategic Input
- Offer insight into competitive positioning, market practices, and partnership structures that could enhance EPC scalability or cost-effectiveness
- Other duties as assigned
$133,000-$151,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
