Responsibilities
About the role
The Treasury Operations Suspense and Research Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Suspense and Research Teams to achieve optimal business results and outstanding customer service related to consumer loans, lease and commercial lending. This position requires a thorough knowledge of consumer and commercial leasing and the various products offered. This manager develops and implements controls to ensure the department is in compliance with company operating procedures and adherence to state and federal regulations. Including, having contact and interaction with all levels of management and various departments across the organization as well as external customers, automobile dealerships, vendors, auditors and state agencies.
In this role you will:
- Oversee staff assignments and distribution of workload to ensure service level requirements are met
- Manages the day-to-day operations for suspense and research (to include AutoSuite)
- Ensure Aging Suspense items are monitored on a daily basis to ensure KPI are being met
- Review and approve refunds with accuracy and mitigate any losses to the company or delays to the customer
- Identify and eliminate redundancies in processes
- Develop effective relationships with other departments to better understand their operational needs and service expectations
- Lead a training session once a week to ensure team is up to date on any new system changes as applicable
- Provide coaching and directions to ensure performance standards are met
- Lead and facilitate bi-weekly team meetings for Suspense and Research
- Conduct one on one meetings with Supervisors and/or Team Members monthly
- Ensure Supervisors have a clear and concise understanding of their daily task and deliverables
- Perform periodic Quality Control reviews of Suspense and Research to ensure compliance by team members are being maintained
- Identify opportunities and develop tools and programs that will increase department efficiency while servicing dealerships and other business units
- Participate in planning and executing corporate and departmental initiatives
- Monitor and maintain internal controls to ensure goals and procedures are followed
- Manage team members by establishing annual performance reviews, and determining individual merit, incentive and/or promotional increases
- Assist in ensuring department is staffed adequately, overseeing the vacation and holiday schedules
- Provide budget input and manage budget as requested by AVP Treasury Operations Suspense and Research
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records
Qualifications

- Advanced knowledge of (payments and returns) or non-cash adjustments
- Advanced knowledge of auto industry as it relates to consumer loans, lease and commercial lending
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of financial analysis and cash management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of liability and physical damage insurance for automobiles
- Working knowledge of project management to implement processes and procedures
- Advance knowledge of the accounts receivable process
- Knowledge of FIS AutoSuite
- People management skills able to lead, motivate, and manage a team of 20 team members
- Ability to adjust to changing circumstances as identified for the need of the business
- Use good judgment in making decisions independently relating to daily suspense and research
- Ability to read and analyze suspense and research data to monitor daily performance

Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree required
- 5-7 years experience in Suspense and Research Consumer/Commercial Lease auto finance industry required
- 4 years supervisory required
