Description:
Growing Pallet/Sawmill equipment manufacturer looking for a welder/ fabricator. This position will be responsible for the fabrication of new machinery components. Machinery is built in small batches and often includes new designs and custom equipment. Fabricator position will be responsible to lay out, fit, and weld steel components such as machinery frames, parts, tanks, structural steel, and sheet steel. Come join our team today!
Welder/Fabricator
- Shift: 6:00am – 4:30pm (Monday-Thursday)
- Pay Range: $22-$30/Hour
- Hours/Week: 40
- Required Education Level: HS/GED or equivalent, Welding Certification (Preferred)
- Location: New London, WI
Duties:
- Identify parts, tools, stands, and jigs needed for each project.
- Accurately layout weldments per blue prints.
- Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts into position for welding.
- Square parts within given tolerances.
- Inspect finished welds and final dimensions.
- Layout, tap, and drill holes as needed.
- Use shop fabrication equipment such as shears and pan break.
- Setup/Maintain welder, plasma cutter, and shop tools.
- Keep a safe and clean work area, adhere to all safety rules.
- Give project feedback to supervisor and design team.
Qualifications /Requirements:
- 2 years of welding/fabrication job experience or equivalent combination of welding classes and experience.
- Capability to perform quality welding techniques.
- Basic ability to read, analyze, and interpret fabrication drawings.
- Ability to use tape measures, squares, levels, and various layout tools.
- Ability to accurately layout and square large weldments.
- Experience using hand grinders, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
