Well established, dynamic, well run Title Insurance Company in the Loop has a new hybrid opportunity for an experienced Sr Commercial Escrow Officer .

Commercial Escrow Officer :
Responsibilities :
Coordinate and manage escrow closings for complex single and multi-site commercial real estate transactions
Work with clients and their counsel to obtain closing figures and compile closing statements, input title and escrow line items into software system
Calculate payoff amounts pursuant to payoff letters, collect tax bills and calculate payments for settlement statement
Compare escrow instructions to title requirements, communicate with underwriting staff to confirm closing requirements
Determine sufficient funds are available and that all terms of escrow have been satisfied, set up wires, post incoming funds, facilitate disbursements and track Fed Reference numbers
Confirm recordability of documents, review documents for proper signatures, notarizations and legal descriptions.
Record documents at closing, follow up on recorded documents, request and follow up on post closing releases from payoff lenders, Coordinate State UCC filings
Open and Manage Strict Joint Order Escrows : Prepare escrow instructions as needed, Accept deposits for earnest money, Invest funds on behalf of depositor with written directions and W-9, Prepare balance sheet for retention book and file, Transfer funds as needed to closing escrow
B.A. or B.S.
Background in real estate
Five years of experience in the title insurance industry
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent business writing skills and meticulous attention to detail
Strong organizational and problem solving skills
Ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally within a fast-paced environment
Must be able to prioritize projects and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
