Underground Miner 1 (Experienced)

Job Description

We are seeking dependable and safety-focused individuals to join our Underground Mining Team as an Experienced Underground Miner. The Miner 1 will work as the acting Supervisor for their respective crew, Experience in shrink stopes, blasting, jack-legging, bolting, mucking, and maintaining underground utilities is a must.

Key Responsibilities

• Reporting directly to the Underground Supervisor; utilizing Conventional mining methods, the Underground Miner 1 will Lead a crew in all Underground Mining Activities such as: Shrink stope, Blasting, Jack-legging, Bolting, running underground equipment (haul truck & Muckers), and maintaining underground utilities as needed.
• Perform pre-op inspections on all equipment prior to starting work.
• Follow all MSHA regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.
• Communicate effectively and work as part of an underground mining crew.

Qualifications

• 3 years of underground mining experience required.
• Leadership experience preferred
• Knowledge of conventional underground blasting techniques preferred.
• Prior underground and/or equipment operation experience required.
• Excellent safety, attendance and work records required.
• Demonstrate initiative as a Leader in a growing, fast-paced environment required
• Ability to direct a crew in daily operations.
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role .

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift, carry, and handle up to 135 lbs
• Ability to perform sustained physical labor including bending, stooping, climbing, and working on uneven ground and operating equipment.
• Capable of working in dusty, noisy, and temperature-variable underground conditions.
• Ability to wear a respirator for extended periods of time.
