Under direction, the Servicer A will service and perform simple repair work on vehicles.Incumbents perform a variety of routine job duties involving the cleaning, fueling and maintenance of transit vehicles; perform other vehicle service maintenance duties as required. Complete a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks requiring incumbent(s) to exercise good judgement in the field; perform duties within the limits of established policies, procedures and guidelines and maintain professionalism while working with others contacted in the course and scope of work.CLASS CHARACTERISTICS: This is a journey-level classification requiring the successful performance of the majority of assigned job tasks independently and consistent with established work standards and District protocols.SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: This classification reports to the Director of Maintenance, Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. This classification does not supervise.CORE COMPETENCIES: Technical expertise in assigned area of workFamiliarity with required safety standardsTime management necessary to complete assignments timelyResults orientation to complete assignments as instructedDependability to report to work as scheduled and carry out assigned job tasks

Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments as needed.Vacuum bus interiorCheck tires and repair or change as requiredMaintain accurate records of work performedSteam clean equipment; wash windowsFuel the District’s buses, cars, vans and equipmentSimple repair work on vehiclesReplace oil and other vehicle lubricantsPerform other duties as required and assigned by Supervisor/ManagerReports to work as scheduled.May be required to work extended hours or hours outside of the regular schedule including weekends and holidaysFollow the requirements of The Agency Safety Plan (ASP) which serves as a guiding policy document describing the agency’s approach to managing risk and pro-actively addressing safety. All GET employees are required to report unsafe conditions to management. Participation in the Employee Safety Reporting Program (ESRP) which protects employees that report safety conditions in good faith.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
A background check will be conducted for this classification. All Golden Empire Transit District employees are designated "Disaster Service Workers" through state and local laws (CA Government Code Sec. 3100-3109). In the event of a declared emergency or any undeclared emergency or natural disaster that threatens the life, health and/or safety of the public, GET employees may be assigned to assist rescue and relief workers. Such assignments may be in locations, during hours and performing work significantly different from the employees’ normal work assignments and may continue through the recovery phase of the emergency. As Disaster Service Workers, all Golden Empire Transit District employees are expected to remain at work, or to report for work as soon as practicable following a significant emergency or disaster.OPEN UNTIL FILLED
