Job purpose
Under the direction of the Controller, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring that revenue generated by all revenue centers of the property are properly calculated and reported.
Duties and responsibilities
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
- Preparing and posting of revenue journal entries to the general ledger for all revenues and related comp and coupon expenses.
- Reconciliation of certain general ledger accounts. Preparation of gaming tax returns on weekly basis.
- Maintaining spreadsheets for tracking all revenue and related expenses and preparing weekly reports to management.
- Preparation of certain management financial and statistical reports. Reviews department financial data.
- Recruit, select, train, coach, counsel, recognize and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce excellence in business operations and guest service.
- Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports, and employees as appropriate.
- Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
- Safeguard the confidential information of all employees, department, and company records.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
- Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in finance operations with a 4-year degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to obtain a gaming license.
- Must have solid planning, time management, decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals.
- Ability to work occasional overtime and irregular hours.
Salary : $70,800 - $89,700
