What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic position at Golden Queen Mining Co LLC?
What You Do
· The Mechanic position is responsible for performing daily checks on equipment that would include checking and changing, if necessary, all engine and cab air filters.
· Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all applicable equipment under the direction of higher-level technicians.
· Check for, and note, any leaks or discrepancies in hydraulic systems or power train components on the mobile equipment.
· Minor maintenance repairs to equipment as needed.
· Maintain records of repairs and preventative maintenance.
· Maintain an orderly and safe work environment at all times.
· Perform maintenance labor tasks such as shop cleaning and equipment washing.
- Adhere to all safety and standard operating procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
· Self-starter that can take and follow direction as needed.
· Commitment to working safely and promoting a safe work environment.
· 1 to 2 years’ experience in fueling and lubrication of mobile construction and/or mining equipment.
· Able to perform basic preventative maintenance.
· Good working knowledge of computers.
· Willing and able to do shift work as needed.
· Able to climb and lift 50lbs, work in awkward positions requiring prolonged bending, kneeling, and standing.
· Able to operate 26,000-pound lube/service truck.
· Have a good understanding of lubrication (i.e. greases and oils), their properties, and proper applications.
· Driver license required.
